2010 Season - Week 15

Two Weeks to Go

Johnnie capitalized on a poor week from Chief by closing the gap at the top to just 6 points. If Aaron Rodgers had not been out with a concussion he would have thrown the 3 TDs his back-up Matt Flynn threw and Johnnie would have gone top in the third week of December, something he predicted he would do much earlier in the season. What are the lottery winning numbers for next week Johnnie! Rodgers has been cleared to play next week. Aaron was unable to take advantage, just outscoring Chief by seven points and he is now 32 points behind. At the bottom of the table both AP and H came up with huge weeks, 40 points each and have passed George putting him in the drop zone. It’s still really close with 10 points separating the three of them for the final relegation spot. Daz’s 21 points and Cheryl’s week worst 12 points have probably doomed them. Cheryl is 34 from safety and Daz 48. They will be replaced by Mark (who now leads the Conference by 91 points) and by David S and Ron, now just a point apart. Don’t count Dave G out just yet. He is 27 behind Ron but outscored him by 16 this week and is 28 behind David S but outscored him by 17. The Worst Ever A couple of weeks ago John B asked whether his season was the worst ever. Well I can now confirm that it is not, that ignominy belongs to AP who scored just 241 points back in 1998. It wasn’t a great scoring season in 1998 as AP finished just 18 points behind Marcus whose total was the third worst ever one point ahead of the 258 David S scored in 1999. With 251 points John should pass both of them this week. 280 points by Dave G in 1996 and David S in 2006 are the next targets. The Weymouth Bay Bargaineers are currently 82 points behind The Misunderstood, the largest ever deficit was in the inaugural season when AP finished 127 points behind Cheryl so again John looks like he’ll be within that. In more recent times Aaron finished 90 points behind (ironically) John at the bottom of the Conference in 2002. NFL Playoffs Four teams are now in. This weekend Pittsburgh, Atlanta and Chicago joined New England in the play offs but with just two weeks to go seven of eight divisions are still to be decided (The Bears won the NFC North) and 15 teams chase the remaining eight postseason spots. Players on Injured Reserve Before week 16 Wayne has replaced Terrell Owens with Oakland’s wide receiver Jacoby Ford and David S replaced kicker franchise Joe Nedney with Ram Josh Brown. Remember the weekends now start on Thursday Night so I need your change by 11pm Thursday. BUMS on Seats With Sunday being Boxing Day and Monday the Cooper Xmas day this week we will only be meeting at Johnnies on Tuesday at 5pm for what could be the NFC South deciding New Orleans @ Atlanta game. So just one more thing to do - Merry Christmas one and all.
